The SMA Family Charitable Foundation announces the start of the SMA Clinic project in Russia, dedicated to the treatment of a serious and rare disease - spinal muscular atrophy (SMA).
Spinal muscular atrophy is a rare disease, and, unfortunately, knowledge about the features of its course and how to help patients with this diagnosis is rare even among medical professionals. Awareness in society about the disease itself, about the needs of patients can change the situation for the better.
It is for this purpose that on August 22-23 in Moscow the project "Clinic SMA" for children and adults will open its doors. Families from all over the country will be able to receive medical advice from specialists with unique experience in monitoring and accompanying patients with this serious disease. In addition to consultations, all families participating in the project will receive comprehensive medical, socio-legal and psychological support throughout the year, which will allow them to adapt to life and live fully in society. There are no similar programs for patients with SMA in Russia. Families participate in the program free of charge.
The SMA Clinic project is organized by the SMA Family Charitable Foundation for Patients with Spinal Muscular Atrophy and Other Neuromuscular Diseases and is implemented with the support of the Presidential Grants Fund. The medical partner of the project is the Semeynaya network of clinics.
The official opening of the project "Clinic SMA" will take place on August 23 at 13-30. Venue - clinic "Family". Address - Yaroslavskoe shosse, 69 (VDNKh metro station)
Representatives of the Federation Council, the State Duma, the Office of the Ombudsman for the Rights of the Child, as well as representatives of regional authorities are invited to the opening of the clinic.
