On July 21, the VIII annual festival of gardens and flowers Moscow Flower Show ended in the Muzeon Art Park. As a result of the competition, The Less garden, prepared by the designer Alena Akhmadullina together with the LuxGarden landscape design studio, received a gold medal in the Show Garden nomination.
In accordance with the DNA of the AlenAkhmadullin brand, a very Russian tree - birch - was chosen as the basis for the composition, used in a chaotic planting. The birch grove is complemented by clear graphics of round coniferous bushes, reminiscent of fabulous moss, and glossy paving stones, which create an imitation of a wooden covering through which plants make their way. The name “The Less” is a play on words: on the one hand, it is consonant with the Russian word “Forest”, on the other, it reflects the current concept of minimalism in the solution of the composition and the choice of plants.
As conceived by the designers, the color combination of graphic black-and-white trunks, glossy terracotta wood and “sharp peaks” of sedges created an unusual sense of space: on the one hand, a natural environment, on the other - fabulous. The layout of the garden was made in the form of “pixels”, which are easily transformed depending on the filling material: cereals, water, modules with birches. This simplicity and naturalness, combined with the possibility of transformation, is a reflection of the modern world.
