The 12th season of the largest international exhibition of headwear and accessories Chapeau took place in Moscow. More than 300 manufacturing companies of finished products, materials and equipment presented their developments and new collections for buyers and journalists in Gostiny Dvor from 18 to 21 August.

The rich program of internal events of the exhibition consisted of traditional shows from fashion designers Violetta Litvinova, Julie Mares and members of the Millinery club, as well as children's, student and industrial headwear and clothing competitions. The new season was traditionally opened with his fashion show by Maestro Vyacheslav Zaitsev, who is also the permanent chairman of the jury of the main competition of the Chapeau exhibition and a long-time partner of the company, the organizer of the event, Kordon. For the ribbon-cutting ceremony, designers Igor Gulyaev, Violetta Litvinova and Sergey Pugachev also took the stage, and Amiran Kortiashvili, General Director of the Kordon exhibition company, made a welcoming speech to the guests.

Anna Makarenko (MHPI), Nadezhda Khatipova (OMGU) and the duet of Sergei Podzorov and Karina Prazdnova (MHPI) took prizes in the project "Chapeau Fashion Start - The Future of Chapeau". These and other participants in the competition received valuable prizes and career opportunities from representatives of the Shopping Guide and Pilates Journal, designer brands Kajf & Kajf and Antares, the Russian Silhouette Charitable Foundation, as well as Glamcom.ru and Real Profit Group. The final day of Chapeau became decisive for the selection of the winner of the main competition project of the exhibition - "Headwear Chapeau 2014", it was the designer, a graduate of the SlavZaitsev Fashion Laboratory, Lilia Gureeva. It was she who was awarded the "Crown of the Empire of Headdresses" from the hands of the master of Russian fashion Vyacheslav Zaitsev, director of Chapeau Andrey Malykh and host of the entire program of the exhibition Alexander Belov.All members of the jury of both competitions received valuable prizes from the partners of the exhibition - the Japanese brand SENSAI, the Dikson brand, the Maitre tea label, and the GrecTerra wine house.

For the first time, Chapeau's business program included lectures and master classes not only by experienced specialists in the creation of hats, but also by stylists, experts in the fashion and beauty industry, buyers and representatives of fashionable gloss. For example, Vladimir Gridin, fashion analyst and publisher of the Mensolutions.ru project, said that a hat as an accessory plays an important role in creating a complete image, despite the fact that nowadays it is rarely used in everyday life. In the latest collections of global brands such as Givenchy, Burberry and Yohji Yamamoto, the headpiece is one of the key details, which means that this fall, hats will not go unnoticed by connoisseurs of fashion and will become one of the defining trends.

At the round table, which took place on the evening of August 19, the topic of building a career and business in the fashion industry was discussed. The meeting was opened by the director of Chapeau Andrey Malykh, who dedicated the present colleagues to the goal and mission of the exhibition project, incl. and consisting in the unification of manufacturers and designers on one site. Ksenia Grishchenko, creative director of the Kajf & Kajf brand, suggested drawing the attention of young brands to social networks, and especially Instagram, as the most effective tools for a successful start. Elmira Ivanova, designer of Antares, agreed with her, who also noted the important role of team building and participation in exhibitions for the growth of the brand. Director of the Russian Silhouette Charitable Foundation Tatyana Titkova in her speech drew attention to the lack of strong investors who are able to promote talented designers,creating a serious structure for work and development, as happened with Alena Akhmadullina or Alexander Terekhov. Elvira Galimova, Marketing and PR Director of the premium segment company AIZEL, indicated her readiness to cooperate with Russian manufacturers, incl. on online platforms, however, one of the key criteria when choosing a partner, the expert highlighted the quality of production, which is far from being at the proper level for everyone. At the end of the business program of the XII season of the Chapeau exhibition, a master class from Plates Journal was held, which was conducted by an experienced trainer of one of the capital's fitness clubs. The topic was the familiarization of fashion industry professionals with the Pilates technique, which allows you to feel more confident and lighter, which is absolutely necessary, for example, for models and all those involved in organizing events - the most visible part of the fashion world to others.

During the four days of the exhibition of hats and accessories Chapeau 2014, visitors - most of whom are buyers and representatives of the press - were able to get acquainted with new collections and seasonal offers from leaders in the production of hats and caps for everyday life, travel and going out. The greatest attention of the guests was traditionally attracted by the stands of the international fur auctions SagFurs, Naf and American Legend. The designer segment of production at Chapeau 2014 was represented by such brands as MaryBelle, Mexico City, graduates of the SlavZaitsev Fashion Laboratory, VasilisBaklashova, ViolettLitvinova, Millinery club and others.

The next season of the Chapeau exhibition will take place in the second half of August 2015 at the largest central Moscow site - in Gostiny Dvor.
