The ideological inspirer of the competition in 2010 was the associate professor of the Department of Theory and Practice of Design (SIMBiP), member of the Union of Designers of Russia, academician of the National Academy of the Fashion Industry, chief artist of the IVANOVA Fashion House, Yulia Konstantinovna Ivanova. The first competition was attended by students from 8 schools in Sochi. This year, 44 schools took part in the competition, and the number of Christmas trees selected for the exhibition amounted to more than 550 copies, and this is an absolute quantitative record for the entire five-year history of the exhibition and competition of designer Christmas trees that are held by SIMBiP!

Another significant event took place this year at the competition. The Christmas tree exhibition has grown from a city event into an all-Russian one. This happened due to the fact that both the competition and the exhibition for the first time were attended by young athletes who came to the All-Russian Children's Sports and Recreation Center, recently created on the basis of the Sochi Olympic facilities.

- It's amazing! - Vyacheslav Mikhailovich shared his impressions. - I did not expect to see so many wonderful works that amaze with the imagination of the authors, and the choice of materials, and the quality of workmanship, and which, for all their unusualness, are very beautiful and harmonious. It is clear that many Christmas trees are not made by children alone, that parents participated in their creation, but look, there is not a single pass-through work here, all are made with great efforts and love …

After visiting the exhibition, Vyacheslav Mikhailovich Zaitsev chose a tree that he liked more than others. But this choice, he said, was very difficult. The maestro asked to give the author of the work a prize from him personally - a book about his life and work with an autograph, drawing and pleasant wishes.

The Christmas tree exhibition works in the exhibition hall of SIMBiP (the first floor of the Fashion House of Lyudmila Ivanova, Parkovaya St., 17) every day from 9.00 to 18.00. Free admission.

The exhibition will run until January 15th. Also on this day, another solemn ceremony is planned - the authors of several Christmas trees, for which the largest number of votes will be given by visitors to the exhibition, will be awarded “Audience Choice Prizes”. And these are very significantts - certificates for free education at the children's art school SIMBiP, at the courses of the Center for Continuing Education of the Institute and a set of materials for creativity. Come and vote.

And finally. I think this is a very cool social project. Take note!
