Menswear creators can experiment with silhouettes and lengths of their models, come up with the most incredible accessories, go back to the days of Napoleon Bonaparte and let their fantasy go into the distant future, however, when it comes to shoes, most designers keep their eyes on the same source. The West Coast Shoe Company, which has been on the market for over 85 years, and better known by its acronym Wesco, has become a major trendsetter in the men's footwear industry.
It all started last fall when lead stylist VictoriBartlett bought a pair of standard 'Highliner' leather boots. This purchase seems to have sparked the fashion industry's interest in Wesco products. Jean-Paul Gaultier turned out to be the next client of the company. Having ordered lace-up boots from the `Jobmasters` series, after a while he returned with a much more solid order - all models in the fall 2003 collection wore this particular shoe.
And after a while, the rapper fashion designer P. Diddy and the trendsetter of American fashion Michael Kors turned out to be the clients of the company. Looks like fashion fans will have to seriously think about what they will wear next fall.
