PHILIPP PLEIN thundered during Milan Fashion Week with a Spring / Summer 2012 show staging the city's jungle. The well-known American actress Lindsay Lohan became a special guest of the show.
The urban jungle vaulted by the magnificent Church of San Paolo Converso was recreated by designer Philip Plein for the presentation of the Spring-Summer 2012 collection. The eight-meter walls were decorated with leaves and flowers, 16th century frescoes and stunning modern 3D projections. At the entrance, guests were greeted by exotic Amazons - unique objects of body art. All visitors immediately plunged into the heavenly atmosphere.
“I wanted to be sophisticated, wise, yet primitive in today's urban jungle. Women for whom the Spring-Summer 2012 collection has been created should also associate themselves with this particular style. I have been looking for inspiration while traveling all over the world. This time I was especially happy to show the results of my work, because the process of creating the collection was a great pleasure,”says designer Philip Plein.
The Spring Summer 2012 collection is an uncommon approach to a bright, strong and modern female look.
The first few models in the collection combined the mood of classic rock and roll, British punk rock, modern hippie, and French fashion from the 60s and 70s. Leather belts, boleros and jackets in combination with long flying dresses.
The second trend in the collection is American street style, which can be identified in leather jackets with pockets, micro-shorts, denim jackets and jeans. As part of the new spring-summer 2012 beachwear line, monokini models with a deep neckline, decorated with SWAROVSKI crystals, were presented. A bright floral theme found an unusual expression in leopard prints on floor-length dresses, combined with a pink leather vest. Studs in python skin and a boat without a nose with prints in the form of maple leaves. Shopper bitch decorated with metal rivets, chains and pendants. Once again PHILIPP PLEIN has relied on exquisite materials and made-in Italy quality.
Models appeared in urban punk fashion on the catwalk, with colorful make-up and spectacular headdresses in the shape of a mohawk made of fresh flowers. The show was accompanied by a soundtrack reminiscent of the rhythms of the wild jungle and the sounds of rock and roll.
Among the guests of the show and the party were Victoria Lopyreva, Olga Rodionova, Elisabetta Gregoraci (wife of Flavio Briatore), a blogger from Milan, Chiara Feragni, Italian TV presenters Elena Santarelli and Valeria Marini, James Goldstein.
