Dutch brand Hunkemöller has unveiled the Spring / Summer 2020 collection in Amsterdam, the first for Andrew Lane as the brand's new creative director. The headliners of the show are Dutch plus-size models Fine Bauer and Lydia Santos, as well as the first transgender top model Loisa Lamers, winner of the show “Top Model in Dutch”.
“Hunkemöller lingerie is created for girls with different looks, values and backgrounds, so we entrusted the opening of the show to these models,” comments Lane.
The production and choreography of the show was based on Beyoncé's clip "Spirit", whose message is consonant with the philosophy of Hunkemöller - every woman is beautiful, regardless of her shape and size. Multiculturalism, inclusiveness, the human right to be in harmony with their body, skin color and figure - that's what the new Hunkemöller show is about.
The collection is inspired by floral motifs from iconic contemporary art. Andrew Warhol's scarlet hibiscus, Georgia O'Keeffe's white roses, Robert Mapplethorpe's black lilies and Frida Kahlo's yellow gerberas have blossomed on new peignoirs, slips, bodysuits and underwear sets. The provocative Private line also did not go unnoticed: open bras and panties with bandage elements, lace bodysuits with a harness in the style of the Japanese art of tying "shibari" and bralettes with a choker. In the new season, Andrew Lane is experimenting with the materials and decor of swimwear and beachwear models: sequins and lacing, ruffles and deep necklines, crochet lace and transparent chiffon.
The Hunkemöller runway collection is already presented in all eight Russian stores of the brand, including the recently opened store in the Afimall City shopping center.
