The Metropolis shopping center hosted a charitable exhibition “Laos. Hearts and Smiles”, organized by Pampers and UNICEF within the project“1 Pack = 1 Vaccine”. Lao children and women became its main characters: smiling from the pictures taken by the famous photographer Vladimir Shirokov, they conveyed an important message to the Russians.

How to say thank you in Lao? To answer this question, it is not necessary to speak all 49 dialects of this country. You just need to look at the pictures of Lao children and mothers taken by Vladimir Shirokov as part of the Pampers and UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) project "1 pack = 1 vaccine", which aims to combat neonatal tetanus. Anyone can see these photos: from February 1 to March 1, 2011, a unique photo exhibition is being held in the Metropolis shopping center, timed to coincide with the new stage of the charity event.

Cheerful and happy faces, wide smiles, radiant eyes, hands folded in the shape of a heart … Dozens of portraits of Lao babies and their mothers were shot by Vladimir Shirokov in early December during a trip to one of the poorest Asian countries, where newborn babies die from tetanus every year. The main goal of this trip was to see how the "1 pack = 1 vaccine" program is being implemented and to see how everyone in need receives the vaccines that were purchased with the proceeds from the campaign.

The presentation of the photo project aroused wide interest among representatives of the Russian elite, journalists, and public figures. So, among the guests were seen Tutta Larsen, Anastasia Grebenkina, Daria Poverennova, Archie, Dominik Joker, Anton Zatsepin, the Hi-Fi group, Violetta Nakhimova and Alex Che.

Each of the famous guests brought with them gifts that they will donate to the UNICEF fund for babies from Laos, who are especially in dire need of support and love.

Such a resonance is not surprising - after all, the opened exhibition differs from other similar events in that it not only tells us about human misfortune, but also reminds us of what each of us can do to help people cope with it.

The official part of the holiday began with the appearance on the stage of Oksana Fedorova and Vladimir Shirokov. On behalf of the Lao women, they thanked everyone who took part in the action. Their call was echoed by the following speakers: Yulia Mayorova - PR Manager of Procter & Gamble and Terrance Slobodyan, Head of the Department of Partnership Support Programs for the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).
