The actress and the face of Lancome, Julia Roberts, became the heroine of the advertising campaign for the Parisian fashion house. Ricardo Tisci continues to bend his line and refuses to invite professional models to shoot ads. Before Julia, Marina Abramovich, Erika Badu and Isabelle Huppert played the honorary role of the face of the brand. Well, Tisha's choice, as always, is impeccable: Roberts looks just great in advertising for the spring-summer collection. The creative director of the brand himself told the press about his choice.
- I am literally shocked and happy to work with Julia! She is one of the few superstars that the public knows little about. She does not seek to appear on the covers of magazines, does not claim a place in fashion and does not appear in advertising. At the same time, Julia remains one of the most famous people in the world. My mom and sisters, who are not interested in fashion, were very impressed that Julia agreed to work with us. I myself was very surprised when she gave her consent, as I knew about her long-term contract with Lancome.
“I wanted the new ad campaign to match both Givenchy's spirit and myself. It was supposed to be a very clean, black and white message. A strong woman, sexually attractive, but at the same time courageous - that's just my style. I wanted the campaign to be honest, so that clients could see my associations. It will soon be ten years since I have been working at Givenchy, so I wanted to shoot people that are iconic for me.
- The first time we worked with Julia, when she ordered my outfit for the red carpet. I made a tuxedo for her that time. When I invited her to appear in commercials, I thought it would be just amazing, because she is very beautiful, feminine, smart and very funny. She's a super fun girl! Besides, Julia is very confident in herself, and this is exactly what my woman should be.
- These stylish shots were taken by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. They were both very surprised: "Wow, this is Julia Roberts!" The shooting was very powerful, and our star turned out to be a great professional. Sometimes when you shoot celebrities, you want to make them more glamorous, but I wanted to show Julia as she came to the shooting: black jacket, men's shirt, jeans, no hair or makeup. Due to the fact that everyone knows her amazing smile, I asked her not to smile, and it turned out really great.
