From supportive tights for healthy legs to iPod-friendly jeans, it looks like we're expecting something more from our clothes these days.
Levi have just announced their intention to expand on wearable technology with the development of iPod-compatible jeans. These jeans will seamlessly integrate your iPod. Features of the novelty: a special control joystick, which will be in a small pocket (which, in turn, will be in the right front pocket) - which will allow you to control the device without taking it out of your pocket, and young people will no longer look so ambiguous, just innocently switching from music.
And yet - the place for the iPoda itself. Everything is designed to eliminate any 'bumps - bumps' on your jeans. Plus - comfortable retractable headphones built right into your jeans so you don't have to mess around with naughty wires anymore. And all the "pieces of iron" are neatly hidden in a special back pocket.
Probably the smartest gimmick of the novelty is the TuneBuckle iPod nano strap, recently released by ProductM, in which the iPod can be holstered securely in a high-quality aluminum strap buckle.
It has not yet been announced how much these jeans will cost, but it is known that they will go on sale in the fall of 2006. The new Levi's RedWire DLX jeans are yet to be tested by customers, but have already been hyped as Levi's next bestseller. www.levi.com
