Press release

A respected fashion historian, owner of an unrivaled collection of vintage clothing and accessories, Didier Ludo visited Moscow at the invitation of Tatler magazine as part of the opening of Victoria's Vintage pop-up store.

For three months, Victoria's Vintage pop-up store will offer for sale the best examples of vintage couture from the Ludo collection: rare things Chanel, Dior, Hermes, Balenciaga, YSL, Lanvin, as well as little-known and all the more valuable Madame Gres, Madeleine Vionnet and Paul Poiret.

“I first heard about Didier from Tatiana Sorokko, one of the first Russian top models of the perestroika era and a serious vintage collector. Now, whenever I come to Paris, I definitely go to the Didier Ludot boutique in the Palais Royal. It never smells of mothballs here, either literally or figuratively. This is a place where you can not only “touch” the history of fashion, but also buy it so that you can admire the skill of the couturier of those years, attention to detail - God, as you know, is in the details. By the way, several times in the boutique I met Russian it-girls: they have long been combining vintage with objects of desire from fresh collections,”says Tatler editor-in-chief Ksenia Solovyova.

Ludo's complete collection includes over 60 thousand Haute Couture dresses. Including an antique Chanel dress from 1926, the very first Yves Saint Laurent suits, a Balenciag dress from 1964, as well as costumes that once belonged to Catherine Deneuve and Audrey Hepburn. Each item is surrounded by a unique aura and has its own history, which is recorded and carefully guarded by the curators of the collection.

The best pieces, created by the great couturiers of the middle of the last century, were kindly provided by Mr. Ludo to his Moscow partner, Victoria's Vintage. The uniqueness of the event also lies in the fact that the collection has never left the walls of Didier Ludo's Paris store, and such a collaboration is a novelty for this connaisseur from fashion, leading a rather isolated lifestyle.

On April 20, the Didier Ludot pour Victoria's Vintage collection was presented to select guests of Tatler magazine in Metropol. Victoria's Vintage pop-up store will function there in the next three months, where everyone can buy a piece of the legend.

The event was attended by: Didier Ludo, Ksenia Solovieva, Victoria Shamis, Ulyana Sergienko, Tatiana Shirkina, Tatiana Torchilina, Victoria Shelyagova, Anastasia Belyak, Anna Popova, Irina Pochitaeva, Nadezhda Obolentseva, Yulia Skvortsova, Fresh Art, Yulia Polyskalova, Iulia Polyskalova and etc.
