The first and perhaps the most noticeable feature of the new collection of Narciso Rodriguez is a radical change in proportions: the designer, who has always advocated modest femininity, this time took the main place in the collection to very short (up to mid-thigh and even shorter) skirts. However, the ensembles, even despite the radical length of the mini, turned out to be absolutely balanced - the company of mini-skirts was made up of deliberately closed jackets and coats.
Neutral black-white-beige gamut, very simple silhouette solutions, almost complete absence of prints and decorative details - all this at first glance could make the collection banal and uninteresting, but the simplicity in Narciso Rodriguez's performance does not mean a lack of creativity. Quite the opposite - each model from the new spring-summer 2014 collection attracts attention, then with the amazing purity and brightness of contrasting combinations of black and white (it is on such a graphic combination that, in fact, most of the collection is built), then with the amazing beauty of the minimalist cut. Well, the three cocktail dresses that closed the show - made of delicate, flesh-colored silk - once again remind of the key principles of Narciso Rodriguez's aesthetics: femininity, discreet sophistication and genuine craftsmanship in cutting and detailing.
