For two years, from the first show, the strongest part of Alexander Arutyunov's work was accessories. Caucasian ethnic motives were guessed in the dresses - primarily in silhouettes, but this was still a search. And now - the search is over. The fall-winter 2013 / 14 collection shows us the real and magnificent Alexander Arutyunov!
The color scheme is even more minimalistic than usual - black, beige gray and white, small splashes of olive brown tweed and contrasting patterns of feather-petals, cold gray and yellow. Drawings decorate not only dresses, blouses and skirts - even tights and stockings are hand-painted.
Traditional black leather is still in favor with the designer, organically fitting into the images: inserts into jackets and dresses, gloves, peplum, short and midi-skirts, leggings, shorts - and men's trousers.
The male looks in the collection show the designer's creativity from a new side - there are only three of them, but they set out the entire conceptual spectrum that creates the fashionable image of the Alexander Arutyunov man: here and a shaggy coat of a case silhouette thrown over the shoulders like a burka; and leather trousers, and snow-white stand-up collars, reminiscent of "merchant" shirts, and knitwear, and a leather skirt.
All things in the collection are remarkable. Separately, I would like to note an asymmetrical jacket with a painting on the shelf - this topic deserves a separate further development.
Royal black maxi dresses - both without a cut at the waist, and cut-off, and with basques, and even with transparent inserts in the skirts (which allow you to see the painted stockings) - the final set of the collection, worthy of the white tie dress code.
And finally, accessories: metal tiaras reminded of Aragorn's crown in "The Lord of the Rings" (they suit both men and women alike), and fashionistas will undoubtedly like the unusual shape of warm hats with "eyes" - the decor causes just such an impression … Feathers in the decor may already be superfluous, but they have an excuse - they continue the feather motif in the painting.
Summing up, we can repeat what was said at the beginning: Alexander Arutyunov finally finally found himself and at a critical moment for most designers (the fourth or fifth season is always a "turning point", showing whether the brand has got DNA) issued the strongest collection since the official foundation of the brand Alexander Arutyunov. Strong and beautiful. Bravo, Alexander!
