The international competition for young designers "Russian Silhouette" was launched for the 12th time in Russia and neighboring countries. This year the competition is supported by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia.
A unique international project headed by Tatyana Mikhalkova has been revealing new names of young designers to the world for over 20 years. The Foundation strives to always be at the center of the fashion stream, because its main goal is to support talented youth and create conditions for the development of the potential of gifted fashion artists in the modern world. Alena Akhmadullina, Alexander Terekhov, VikGazinskaya, Kirill Gasilin, Dzhemal Makhmudov, Alexey Vlasov, Anton Galetskiy and many others, who are successfully developing their brands and making up a team of the country's leading designers, became the winners of the competition.
This year, about three thousand novice fashion designers from Kursk, Tula, Yakutsk, Vladivostok, Voronezh, Omsk, Kaliningrad, Sochi, Grozny, Penza and other cities will take part in the qualifying rounds of the "Russian Silhouette". With the support of regional offices, the preliminary stages of the competition will be held. During the first - "sketch" - participants submit applications and photographs of their work. At the second stage - "on a hanger" - the guys bring already sewn outfits. However, the most colorful and exciting is the catwalk itself, where all five models of clothes are presented to the audience in a single concept.
Free participation and provision of young designers with models and stylists gives talented guys a chance to declare themselves in the fashion industry, regardless of their financial capabilities. Contestants get acquainted with famous designers, receive advice from honored masters of the catwalk, and winning the competition gives the finalists the opportunity to undergo an internship at the best fashion houses. Bosco di Ciliegi, SagFurs, Premier Vizion, Samos Fashion Group, Linum, Red have provided winners with significant internships and prizes more than once. The winners studied at the Istituto Marangoni and the Domus Academy in Milan, the Polimod Institute in Florence. The shows of the finalists at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia, at the Fashion Week in Rome (RomCollezioni AltModa), Fashion Week in Moscow and others were successfully held. The names of the winners of the 12th Russian Silhouette competition for young designers will be announced on November 10 at the final gala show in Gostiny Dvor, which is the largest fashion event in terms of organization level and the breadth of geography of its participants.
Today, the search for talented designers and assistance to them is of particular importance for the creation of new domestic brands and the development of existing brands. This is confirmed by the State Secretary, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Viktor Yevtukhov: “The Russian light industry today has positive growth rates and expands the circle of interested consumers. However, we do not rest on our laurels and continue to work actively to establish a dialogue not only with large enterprises, but also with small businesses. It is especially important to support our designers, including stimulating the transition from private collections to serious production.
