Yesterday, July 27, a 3-year contract was signed between the design duo Domenico Dolce & Stefano Gabbana and the ChelseFootball Club. The terms of the contract stipulate not only the design of the uniform for the players, employees and managers of the club, but also the restyling of the West Stand club office located at the home stadium of the Stamford Bridge club, as well as the main reception of the club.
We now see celebrity players like John Terry, Frank Lampard, Didier Drogba and the rest of the playmakers dressed in D&G signature navy three-piece suits, complete with matching shirts and ties. Among fans of D&G “threes”, we have already seen George Clooney, Morgan Freeman, Mick Jagger, Bono, David Beckham and many other celebrities.
Carlo Ancelotti, head coach of the club, and formerly a player in the legendary composition of the Milan football club from 1987 to 1992, when the team in 1989 and 1990. won the European Cup, will sport the same suit, but in a blue shirt. The contract provides for the outfitting of all employees with ceremonial and casual uniforms. The female line-up will be dressed in the designers' win-win hit - a black trench coat paired with black stiletto heels. Even the luggage bags will be made of blue leather and adorned with metal D&G logos.
The design duo turned to football in 2004 when they released their book, Calcio, which focuses on football players as modern male style icons. This idea was confirmed by the magnificent photographs of 44 players and 2 coaches of the football club Milan, taken by the famous photographer Mario Vivanco. Since then, D&G are the favorite designers of the club, and it is not surprising that the players of this team took part, this year, in the advertising campaign for the new line of men's underwear of the famous brand.
