Egor Zaitsev is an artist with a capital letter and his annual absence from MBFWR greatly affected my perception of fashion week. I am happy that having missed two seasons, Yegor again presented the collection on the catwalk.
Yegor's official release begins with the words: "You will not see anything new …". I strongly disagree with this. The presented collection ToSYM (SlavYegor Maroussia) is the prototype of the "second line" of the Fashion House from a dynasty of designers. And such Yegor, "wearable", as many said during the show, few people know. Everyone is used to seeing ironic collections that make fun of fashion and glamor. Yes, and Yegor has repeatedly admitted that he works in the style of "absurdism", bringing to the point of absurdity the global trends that dominate the catwalks. Meanwhile, last year Yegor celebrated the 30th anniversary of his creative activity. 20 years of which, he has been creating pret-a-porte: from romantic classics to youth casual clothes.
At the request of fans who wanted to wear Yegor's things, but due to the originality of the images, they could not afford it, a collection "for sale" appeared, in which three assortment blocks are presented:
Classics - two-piece linen sets, raincoats and coats;
Romanticism - satin bibs - collars offered with traditional small straight-cut fine wool dresses;
Casual - laconic options for "leather jackets" of different lengths. From a short jacket to a parka coat in different stylistic solutions: from brutality to femininity.
The link between the blocks was 4 ensembles from last year's "Unshown Collection". Quilted overalls, cape-tent-cloak and hoods with horns. The concept was presented by Varya Gerasimov, Marusya Pyanzina, Marusya Zaitseva and Danila Polyakov.
As an adherent of YeZ by YEGORZAITSEV brand clothes in any design, I can only add that I will gladly wear clothes from the “for sale” collection, and I got a lilac linen coat back in October).
