On November 21, as part of the FIS Champions Cup in Moscow on Vorobyovy Gory, a collection of Vuarnet ski equipment with a GORE-TEX® membrane was presented, which will become the official clothing of the New League athletes in the upcoming season.
The sports club "New League" was founded in 1999 with the support of the Russian Olympic Committee and Moskomsport. The New League gained wide popularity as the first Russian professional alpine skiing club. From the very beginning of its existence, the "New League" has established strong relations with the Federation of Alpine Skiing and Snowboarding of Russia, as a result of which the sports club became the base site for most of the members of the Russian Alpine Skiing Team.
This is an important milestone for Vuarnet and GORE-TEX® and will significantly increase brand awareness and consolidate their leading position in the sports and outdoor sector. New League athletes will compete in Vuarnet apparel with GORE-TEX® at two Olympic Games in Vancouver in 2010 and Sochi in 2014, in two international ski competitions and in numerous Champions Cup seasons.
The models in which Russian athletes will perform are distinguished by ergonomic cut, contrasting colors (white, black, red), stylish design, and, of course, high quality fabrics developed according to the latest technologies of WL Gore & Associates, representing the GORE-TEX® brands. and WINDSTOPPER®. Women's clothing models are designed with a special female figure in mind and are distinguished by a special cut that emphasizes the contours and curves of the body.
Gore's latest development is a two-layer GORE-TEX® Pro Shell fabric used in jackets and pants, making the garment completely wind and waterproof, yet breathable.
Jackets with detachable hoods have waterproof zippers, ventilation inserts, neck and back padding, and a large number of functional pockets.
The trousers that complement the set are also made from GORE-TEX® Pro Shell fabric. All models open on the sides, have removable suspenders and a waterproof zip fastener.
Another outer garment is the GORE-TEX® Paclite Shell capes, which offer complete protection from rain and wind and are particularly lightweight.
Also in the collection for athletes there is a Warm up set consisting of a black jacket, pants and shorts made of WINDSTOPPER® Soft shell fabric. Thanks to the WINDSTOPPER® membrane, the garments provide a strong barrier against the wind, while providing excellent ventilation thanks to their breathability.
