Dominico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana turned the foyer of La Scala into a catwalk and exhibition hall on the last weekend of January. It hosted a show presentation of their new spring-summer 2015 couture collection, as well as an updated line of jewelry, in which the stars of the Milan ballet took part. To the music of Bizet, Roberto Bolle and several of the troupe's best soloists danced in front of the guests of the show in outfits suitable both for the stage of the great theater and for the catwalk of the Paris Haute Couture Week that ended last Thursday.
Throughout the evening, the audience was accompanied not only by refined beauty, but also by music. "Carmen", "Swan Lake", "Nutcracker", the motives of which could be recognized not only in the parts performed by the dancers, but also in the Dolce & GabbanAltModa models. For the entire 2014, the star duo has not created anything as decorative, pompous and majestic. The skirts of their dresses had not looked so much like crinoline for a long time, and the decoration was not so pretentious. Brocade, lace, flower garlands, satin and gold lace - this is how Dolce and Gabbana imagine real theatrical chic, which can only be resisted by timeless luxury: natural fur, laconic form and unity of color.
In fact, despite the small volume - only 13 models - these are two separate collections in one. Spring-Summer 2015 by Dolce & GabbanAltMod is a story of life on both sides of the curtain. It is about those who create art and those for whom it is created. Here, the viewer inspires the artist no less than the play of the actors - the viewer, and art is capable of transforming. According to AltMod2015, a masterpiece is born from the interaction of a beautiful creation with a grateful listener. And Dolce & Gabban's infamous La Scala begins not with a hanger, but with a poster. It is with copies of old ads inviting to attend performances that one of the most impressive episodes of the show is adorned.
The first presentation of the AltMod2015 jewelry collection took place a day earlier at a private party organized for regular customers at home. But some of the decorations could be seen during the show. This time, like the outfits from Dolce & Gabbana, they were worn not only by models, but also by mannequins and dancers. Roberto Bolle and Beatrice Carbone changed their costumes several times during the evening, appearing in front of the audience in new looks created especially for the show.
