The case, which lasted for 4 long years, is finally completed. And to the delight of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, all tax evasion charges have been officially cleared from their brand, employees and fashion designers. At least this is the verdict of the Supreme Arbitration Court, which took place on October 24, 2014 behind closed doors. The tax litigation that hung over Dolce & Gabbana like the sword of Damocles will no longer cause any inconvenience to the owners or fans of the brand; only the journalists will have to regret, who for a long time and tastefully speculated rumors from behind the scenes and predicted the star duo either multimillion-dollar fines or imprisonment.
Just six months ago, the situation looked much different, and, admittedly, much more scandalous. Back in April 2014, by a court decision, both fashion designers were found guilty and sentenced to 20 months in prison, however, they continued to insist on their innocence. In May, they filed an appeal with the highest court in Italy, the decision on which would determine the fate of Dolce & Gabban almost two years in advance. And they were lucky. Although it would be more correct to say: lucky everyone for whom the appearance of the new Dolce & Gabban collection is a special, anticipated event. If the tenacity of these people and the arguments of their lawyers were insufficient, the podium would have lost the best show in Milan for four whole seasons.
- We have always been honest, - said Dolce and Gabbana in an interview with "Vive l'Italia" immediately after the announcement of the verdict, - and we are very proud of the decision of the Italian court, which confirmed this.
