Salvatore Ferragamo has been added to the list of fashion houses that have recently parted with their creative directors. The autumn-winter collection, created by Massimiliano Giornetti and shown in February in Milan, was the last in this house for the designer.
As representatives of the Italian company reported the other day, the brand is not going to look for a creative director and will focus on the work of the internal team. This became known on Thursday, after the close of trading on the Milan stock exchange.
Giornetti joined the Florentine brand in 2000 and took over the menswear line. In 2010, he presented his debut women's collection, Salvatore Ferragamo, and became the brand's overall creative director. His resignation was described by Michelle Norsa, CEO of the company, "a natural evolution after a long and profitable partnership." Norsa also points out that real change is a great opportunity for the brand to reflect and rethink its approach to work. Most likely, for the time being, a team of young designers will be engaged in the collection of Salvatore Ferragamo.
