Mercedes Benz's Spanish Fashion Week is perhaps the most impressive of all. Each new collection, presented here as part of the general runway program, makes you regret that the world knows little about local brands and craftsmen. And this despite the fact that things, for example, Davidelfin could successfully compete with the Anglomani project Vivienne Westwood, Unconditional and Y-3 Yohji Yamamoto. This is perhaps the most hipster brand of the year, riding on all youth trends at once and successfully presenting them fresh, tasty and humorous.
There were a lot of weird things about men's fashion week this year; from the outfits of Greek gods to high society beggars and Victorian dandies. Only the lazy didn’t have fun with sports leotards, boxers and underwear. But the idea of a tailcoat turtleneck and evening trousers with a drawstring belt belongs to Davidelfin. And this is not the only successful idea in the collection: take a look at dresses with colored straps and belts resembling strips of tape, overalls with panniers, shirts and sweaters with collars reflected horizontally, as if there was a mirror at the solar plexus level of the model, parkas with frock coats rounded floors and ironic evening suits made of jersey and silk knitwear - each new proposal draws on an absolute youth hit. Much may seem avant-garde, however, cut,the color scheme and general presentation of the ensembles ideally balance the innovation with the prevailing trends, which are difficult to pass by in autumn 2014. For a fashionista or fashionista with a non-trivial taste, who wants not only to stay in line with seasonal fashion, but also to develop it, this is a dream come true.
“I love puns,” admits Pelayo Díaz, creative director and one of the main designers of the Davidelfin project. Quoting "Nobody loves no one" by Wicked Game in clothes and accessories for the Fall / Winter 2014-15 collection is his idea. - I chose this particular quote to show how a play on words allows for a contradictory interpretation. On the one hand, no one loves anyone, but at the same time, each of us loves something and there is no one who does not love anything at all.
