The ElenMartín collection, presented during the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Milan, is distinguished by the highest quality of leather construction and processing. The raincoats, vests and sundresses shown as part of the fashion show of her Martin Lamothe brand resemble both medieval armor and a motorcycle jacket, and the woman under them is either a witch from the first horror films, or a hunter of evil spirits. According to the author, the association with witchcraft is not accidental - it was the stories of the trials of heretics and sorcerers in the Age of Winking, the stories of the first pagan cults in the 70s, on the wave of the New Age movement, and the collective mystical experience that inspired this collection.
Luxurious but frightening headdresses, intricate carved patterns, bandages and rags, even the original use of pleated elements, all of these are all references to autodof, specific but extremely popular for late medieval Spain, an entertainment where a theatrical procession, religious performance and public execution. The main colors of the collection are woven into the same convoy - black, white and scarlet, which can be read in different ways depending on the desire: monasticism, clergy, papacy, and coals, firewood, the flame of the costa. Martin Lamothe unhurriedly guides us through the gallery of images of the past, not enduring their assessment. Gloomy silhouettes-cocoons are gradually replaced by muted red loose ensembles, fabrics with a pattern appear, the cut begins to repeat the contours of the body,closer to the end of the show, pale green is mixed with white and gray - here it is the color of the future, hopes and wishes of good luck.
