On October 22, 2013, within the framework of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russi, on the 23rd floor of the ImperiTower MIBC "Moscow-City", a show of the pret-a-porter spring-summer 2014 collection "Diva" by designer Igor Chapurin was held.
Idea
"The girl with the summer-hot lips….and the winter-cold heart", - said the diva of the 40-50s of the last century, actress Jane Russell.
One of the passions of billionaire Howard Hughes and colleague of Merlin Monroe in the movie "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes", Jane became the sex symbol of the "golden age" of Hollywood. The soldiers of the American army decorated her with posters of the barracks, her work on the screen was criticized for defiant eroticism, while she herself remained very religious, rightly remarking: "Why can't a Christian woman have beautiful breasts?"
The story of the legendary actress and amazing woman became the ideological basis of the DIV House CHAPURIN collection.
Silhouette
The geometry of the cut in the new work of the designer refers to the era of the 50s. Igor Chapurin experiments with lines, volume and proportions. Adding "air" on the hips, it visually reduces the waist in cocktail dresses, the trapeze silhouette brings graphicity to the collection. DIV is dominated by mini-length, not only in the design of dresses, but also in overalls - shorts.
Material
In the new collection, the designer traditionally works with silk of different textures, brocade, combines leather and cotton fabrics in the design of dresses, jackets, overalls. Jacquard materials become the striking leitmotif of the DIVA collection. The designer also uses crystals and hand embroidery in the shape of a heron - the original symbol of the House of CHAPURIN, which celebrates its 15th anniversary this year. During the show, the result of the design collaboration between CHAPURIN and Smile will be presented - a collection clutch created according to a sketch by Igor Chapurin.
Color
The dominant colors of the collection are white and black, their combination emphasizes the sculptural forms of some models, and the combination with noble red and silver-blue - personifies the dynamism of the collection and its heroine.
