“I've always thought industrial design was a very good job. I left this area because it is a little isolated. However, working in the fashion industry at its pace made me want to come back.

- I have used some Kvadrat fabrics in my fashion collections as well. This is a mutual influence. Kvadrat is a wonderful brand with an interesting heritage. This is a company that spends a huge amount of time developing their products, which is very important to me. The technical requirements for upholstery are, of course, very different from fashion standards, because upholstery fabrics must be durable. These fabrics are designed to travel in time. This approach is close to me. It is quite pleasant to make a collection that grows gradually and does not go out of style.

- The ability to combine colors and color in general is one of the starting points in my work. I love the idea of looking at colors differently. I suggested strong colors back in Jil Sander, but the pace of fashion made me turn to a more natural palette. This completely changed my perception of color. Today I look at color combinations in different ways, but in the area of upholstery, you need to be very careful with these games. I am skeptical about using bright colors in this subtle area. In my work with Kvadrat, I try to find the right balance between classicism and experimentation.

- Working on one of the collections with the artist Sterling Rubin was very interesting. It bleaches some fabrics and then dyes them. It can blur the color or, conversely, enhance it. Textiles for him are another way of self-expression.

- For Kvadrat, of course, I didn't want to use artistic fabrics, they are not as functional and practical. Currently my main focus is on samples from the 1950s and 1960s, French or Italian. Modernism in textiles looks radical in terms of form, but it is not very interesting in practical terms.

- I have been creating furniture for over ten years. In fact, this is one of my passions. I am fascinated by the precious objects that can be seen in galleries today, but over time I came to the conclusion that I prefer functionality. I stay true to 1950s design and find it romantic.
