J. Mendel's small fall / winter lookbook is a quick overview of the brand's three collections, shown from December 2013 to June 2014, allowing you to quickly assess what went out of fashion at the end of winter, and what is left and will return again in the upcoming season. 4 shots with Bette Franke - 4 trends in casual, festive and outerwear through the eyes of the brand's designers. And the constancy in the choice of model here is not the last factor that affects the integrity of perception, the smooth transition from image to image, allowing you to follow the metamorphosis of details, shapes and textures, without being distracted by the types rapidly replacing each other, as is the case during shows.

Let's be faithful to the chronological principle and turn to the works of J. Mendel, shown in December last year, even before spring completely supplanted the thoughts of furs, fur coats and leather coats from the minds of designers and their clients. Gray, melange and black dominate here. Bright shades are given in a single, uniform stroke: one shade is one thing, no combinations, prints or blends, despite the fading effect coming into vogue. The main shape is a rectangle, although there is both an A-line and an "hourglass", but, perhaps, only dresses retain a note of femininity, while most of the collection is rather unisexual.

But already at the show in February 2014, the concept is seriously changing: bright colors almost disappear, giving way to matte, like powdered tones; the only exception can be considered only cobalt blue, which ties together all three collections. Flying chiffon and satin dresses remain, however, now these materials are not combined. Multicolor combinations appear on the catwalk, black displaces gray, the length and decorative trim of many outfits are reduced: the focus is on fur and leather, and not on light fabrics, a fitted silhouette wins not only in evening fashion, but is increasingly seen even in outerwear.

The trends laid down in winter continue to develop in the spring-summer 2015 collection, where black is becoming even more. Blue is replaced by blues and purples, and fabrics take on a metallic sheen. The accent on the scarlet-white-black scale remains, but ceases to be dominant, the motif of using lace used in February to change the texture of the material and imitate the print is presented more vividly and decisively, including coloristically. Abstract ornaments are replaced by stripes, although part of the fascination with them can be found in the decoration of some things and some details of the cut. Attempts to complement the collection with items with floral and animal patterns can be read as J. Mendel's desire to please the season, rather than as a genuine interest in the topic.

The advertising campaign for the coming autumn and the coming winter is small in volume, harmoniously unites and carefully emphasizes everything that J. Mendel considers really interesting and the most striking in his work this year.
