Hooray, I completed my training in the reportage photography course. In the final review of the course, we will talk about the profession, about paid education and about the meaning of life))
First, about paid education. This is not the first time that I have faced such a problem that, in the case of paid education, teachers are "embarrassed" to rigidly demand that students complete assignments, this applies not only to photo courses. If suddenly someone is offended and he starts spreading bad information about the school, then the next set will be "thinner" ?! Are teachers and organizers guided by these principles? That is the case with our academic higher education, which is still valued today. Didn't pass the session ?! Here, brother, a rifle, boots, a cap - a step march "to love the homeland." What other paid additional education is quoted, besides the MBA? After all, any training often involves incredible work on oneself. Unfortunately, while there is no technology "paid money and knowledge will flow through the astral channel during sleep." In other words, once again I want to dispel the myth "I will pay, they will teach me". In life, it turns out that if I pay, then I will be given the opportunity to squeeze out of a specialist (teacher) everything that I did not give out of self-study.
Well, I, as it seemed immodest to me, squeezed practically everything out of Alexander Chernavsky, the teacher of the reportage photography course at the Wishon school. I highly recommend this course if you really want to take deeper photos, if you really need it, and you really know why.you need it. During the course I had to break myself 3 times. The first time - completing the task "One day in a person's life." I didn’t take my acquaintances, my mother, my father, I really, at the direction of Alexander, took a stranger, I was very scared, but … I got an excellent work experience, a beautiful result, well, I built friendly relations with a very extraordinary personality. The second turning point in myself was on the task of photographing people in public transport. Moreover, a mobile phone could only be practiced, the task meant taking pictures with a full-fledged camera. On this assignment, I mastered the skills of "playing", acquired a reserve of courage, and, well, bought another camera, which makes it easier to shoot in difficult conditions. And of course - a lot of knowledge "how to shoot where it is not very convenient":)). Well, for a long time I broke down on my thesis, in my case - "Story about the CPM exhibition". I made a small discovery for myself - the problem with which you suffer for 2 days is solved in 5 minutes of telephone communication, you just need to overcome laziness and call. This is how the issue of lighting the CPM construction site was solved. Also, when filming, I had a burden of responsibility - "this is a diploma !!!". In 30 minutes of the show, I changed lenses 4 times, ran around the podium 20 times, lay down on the floor 10 times, sat down 100 times, not to mention 3 days spent at the exhibition … Why? Then what to mewhen filming, I was burdened with responsibility - "this is a diploma !!!". In 30 minutes of the show, I changed lenses 4 times, ran around the podium 20 times, lay down on the floor 10 times, sat down 100 times, not to mention 3 days spent at the exhibition … Why? Then what to me needed this photography course. Therefore, if you also need something, get ready to fight with yourself!
At the parting word, Alexander spoke again about the profession. If you take a photograph in its pure form, then it is more a state of mind and personal life preferences. Top photographers, winners of prestigious contests, who have been in the profession for more than 15 years, smart and talented … in their best months earn no more than $ 8,000. Think again if this work reflects your life needs for self-realization. But, Alexander did not reveal, in my opinion, a very important topic - about the transformation of professions. After all, a person can be a journalist (also not an oligarchic specialty), earn 100 rubles, maybe a photographer, earn 100 rubles too. And if a person writes deliciously and shoots luxuriously, he can earn by no means 100 + 100, or even 1000. I have noticed now such a tendency that it is very often difficult to read a long text. People began to make "cutouts" between paragraphs in the form of photographs. And in my LJ friend feed, these authors are some of my favorites. Therefore, my advice is to master areas related to your profession.
As a continuation of improvement in reportage photography (of course, in addition to everyday training), Alexander advised the course of Sergei Maksimishin. As an acquaintance with this person, I suggest watching his interview.
And … my humble diploma.
