The second session began with a review of the photographs that we brought as attempts to capture fragments of someone's life. Fascinating and informative, although, of course, the main "excuse" of all authors (and me too) is "well, do not build strangers in the frame and run around them." Therefore, in the report, statistics of 1% of successful shots are added - there is no opportunity to interfere in the process, only to guess, having taste and some set of knowledge. I really liked the book by Michael Freeman, especially the illustrations explaining certain rules. Unlike the recommended Lapin, Freeman is more interesting to read, the moments clearly fit into the subconscious, excellent layout and composition of the presentation of the material. I look forward to the beginning of the second book))). I also liked Elena Schastlivaya's online photography school, especially with a thematic selection of literature and, importantly, the organization of "online business".

In reportage photography, as a rule, no one should look into the lens. The ideal photographer is the invisible man.
There is a documentary photograph, there is an expressive one. In documentary it is important to convey information, in expressive - to catch the phase of life.
About the phase. Because Since the bulk of the photographs are people, it is very important to correctly convey the facial expression and look. And since people, for the most part, are alive, the face and look changes in a split second. The reporter's task is to predict the moment with the composition and "shoot a series at the object".
More about the phase. Even in documentary protocol footage of politicians' handshakes, shutters crackle as soon as people start moving their hands. It is very important to catch the "phase", which is responsible for the psychological aspect of the way the hand is presented for the handshake. This is what characterizes the character of many people.
Shooting with wiring. We were given the task to rehearse this simple trick for photographing moving objects. This technique shows a moving object moving. I just thought … but no, at first I was unsuccessfully lying in wait in the metro, trying to remove the head of the train against the background of a blurred line diagram, then I caught cars on Kutuzovsky. The result, more or less successfully, was a bus and a dump. Panning is when a series of shots is taken while holding a moving object in the scope. Naturally, on the tracking autofocus. Exposure for walking people is 1 / 20-1 / 30, for cars 1 / 30-1 / 50, for racing cars - 1/125. It was very unusual to shoot with a DSLR in the subway, and even on Kutuzovsky. About 15 snow blowers watched my hunt, but no one said anything or called anyone.
In the subway, my creative idea was constantly violated by someone. I missed 3 trains until I thought of choosing a station in a deserted way.
It seemed to be calmer at the deserted station, but when I received a picture that was approximately similar to the idea, I abandoned the idea.
I decided to do the good old classics … A good smeared bright background is given by the lights))) Of course, I went out on the road.
