The first meeting will focus on the history of Chanel and will kick off a series of three lectures from Ilektra Kanestri, an acclaimed fashion and design expert, lecturer at the British Higher School of Art and Design, former fashion and culture editor of Vogue magazine, staff editor and permanent fashion critic of Elle magazines. Interni, Numero, Cosmopolitan, BURO 24/7 and RBC.
Maria Uvarova, CEO of DI Telegraph, notes: “For six months now, our space has been hosting educational events about the fashion industry. Regular lectures on fashion were initiated by the Korobka market - our project designed to unite young Russian designers and city dwellers interested in industry trends."
At a lecture on the House of Chanel, the teacher of the disciplines "History of Styles" and "History of Costume" will talk about Coco Chanel, the first fashion designer who created fashion in the twentieth century. The great Frenchwoman created costumes for Sergei Diaghilev's Russian Seasons, and her successor Karl Lagerfeld surrounded the models at Chanel shows with objects of conceptual art.
“The leitmotif of the lectures scheduled for January and February will be a synthesis of fashion and art. The fashion block has long become an integral part of our educational environment,”adds Anna Gileva, Director of Public Programs of the Theory and Practice project.
Tickets for the lecture can be purchased in advance on the TimePad or before the event at the DI Telegraph.
