On October 19, in the format of the 25th anniversary season of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Russi, the ss-2013 BIRYUKOV collection was shown. After Oleg Biryukov's victory at the national competition "Dress of the Year" in 1998, he gained a reputation as a minimalist designer, which is confirmed by every show of the designer. The restrained and laconic style of Biryukov demonstrates the individuality of perfected images, without burdening them with additional decor and unnecessary details.
In the new collection, the designer expressed his view of minimalism through geometric patterns, bright color blocks and verified proportions of silhouettes. The collection has a slightly veiled retro sound. Biryukov missed this trend through his restrained style and, despite the dynamics that was felt in the models of the collection, the styles of coats, jackets, skirts, dresses, trousers, tops and blouses had not literal, but familiar retro outlines.
Favorite colors of the designer: black, white and natural colors of linen, wool and cotton, were diluted with yellow, blue, purple, red and coral, which, not for the first season, is the most popular color of all summer collections. The designer made all the "summer" colors pure, without impurities and halftones, and placed all these color accents in the laconic geometry of the pattern on the fabrics.
The "striped" leitmotif of the collection reminded of the works of Peter Mondrian, but written in the language of modern design, taking into account the seasonal trends and the individual designer's view of the work of the Dutch artist. "In the future," wrote Mondrian, "the implementation of the pure expression of form in the visual reality of our environment will replace art." Biryukov's thoughtful color messages carried information about the intelligent style of the next summer - bright, light and optimistic.
The designer himself says: “For me, the creation of a spring-summer collection is always an opportunity, as it were, to look into the future summer and prolong the pleasant summer moods. Therefore, these collections are always made lighter and turn out to be lighter and more optimistic. I hope that it will be perceived in the same way."
The comfort of the images was expressed in the fabrics used in the collection: silk, chiffon, knitwear and cotton, and also emphasized by the shoes of the models of the show: pumps without a heel and shoes with a small wedge heel.
Outfits from the ss-2013 collection by Oleg Biryukov will add “simple” intellectual elegance to the image of an energetic modern woman living in a big city.
